Arnold Arboretum Sign
Founded in 1872, the Arnold Arboretum is a public park and research center owned by Harvard University. It is the oldest public arboretum in all of North America. Visitors are granted free entry every day. This picture depicts the welcome sign and entrance.

Soldier's Monument in West Roxbury
Monument square in Jamaica Plain honoring the fallen 23 soldiers from West Roxbury that fought during the Civil War. Constructed by architect William W. Lummus, the names of the fallen soldiers are etched in a tablet beneath the monument.

This court provides basketball and pickleball courts, however, this park is heavily dominated by the pickle ball players who come here everyday, with there being rarely anyone playing basketball
Papercuts Bookshop
Many locally owned stores in Jamaica Plain display mural artwork alongside their stores. This store in particular is an award-winning indie bookstore known as Papercuts Bookshop that has won awards in multiple magazines including winning Best of Boston in the Boston Magazine.

BPL: Jamaica Plain Branch
Jamaica Plain contains one of the 25 branches of the Boston Public Library. The library has study spaces, community rooms, computers, and various programs for youth and adolescents. It is open to all local residents.
J.P. Licks: Exterior
J.P. Licks is a Boston ice cream store with 17 locations. It was founded in Jamaica Plain in 1981, hence the name. In addition to ice cream, they serve yogurt, cake, pies, coffee, baked goods, and various other foods. Shown above is the outside of the store’s Jamaica Plain location on Centre Street.

Customers can admire the art above them while enjoying their ice cream. The African Flower, an art piece by Gloretta Baynes will be hung in the ice cream shop JP Licks for the next few months. This local artist can display and sell their work through the JP Licks exhibit program at no extra cost.

This utility box was painted by a Tufts artist as a part of Boston’s Paint Box project. This piece is located on Centre Street and showcases the artist Sophia Day’s dog Tommy and his adventures in Boston.
Turtle Swamp Brewing
Jamaica Plain has a long history with breweries, as many of them had been shut down due to prohibition. The Turtle Swamp Brewery offers a variety of beers that are certain to appeal to your palate while preserving the beer culture in JP. Locals can gather and bring their own food and drink the exclusive Jamaica Plain beer.
Front Door to Galway House
The Galway House, an Irish pub in Jamaica Plain, showcases its rich history and love for the neighborhood through a vibrant painting on its front door. The colorful artwork depicts a trolley or train that once roamed the streets of JP, created by local artist C. Plunkett in 2011.
Jamaica Pond
Jamaica Pond is surrounded by a 1.5 mile path and has a boathouse for sailing and rowing. Salmon and trout are brought in from state hatcheries and visitors can fish for them after getting a permit. It is also just a nice place to relax or have a picnic.
